During the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.M.Mirziyoev to Khorezm region on December 12-13, 2020, the task was given to implement the activities of the "Khorezm Archaeological and Ethnographic Youth Expedition" (KAEYE). As part of the expedition program developed by scientists of the Khorezm Mamun Academy, archeological expeditions began on April 1 this year at the Qalajiq Fortress in Bagat district of Khorezm region. The expedition is holding by archaeologists of the Khorezm Mamun Academy, Ph.D. R.Abdrimov, senior researcher B.Sadullaev together with associate professor of UrSU K.Sobirov.

The expedition also includes basic doctoral students of the academy Sh.Rahimov, Sh.Ismailov and J.Abdullaev and PhD Ya.Karimov and a group of students of the Faculty of History of Urgench State University.

On the first day of the expedition, based on the goals and objectives set in the program of the Khorezm Archaeological and Ethnographic Youth Expedition, a seminar-training was organized for students on the methods, directions and specific traits of the organization of archeological expeditions. In this seminar-training, students gained the necessary knowledge and skills related to archeological research science.

The next day, the Khorezm Archaeological and Ethnographic Youth Expedition began its practical, archeological excavations.

Currently, the expedition is being carried out intensively and efficiently. Accordingly to the plan, the expedition will last a full month.
